The Snow is here, Are you ready?

Even if the calendar says it’s not winter yet when the temperature drops and the snow is here its winter to me. Since it happens every year I am usually, mostly ready for it.

I know what I need to do, like get the shovels out of the garage and make sure I have salt for the icy patches. I also check my snowblower is ready to go in case we get a decent amount of snowfall.

Check your Shovel

But there always seem to be something I forget. This year it was to replace my old, worn out snow shovel. My old shovel was so worn it catches on every little crack in the sidewalk and it doesn’t move as much snow making the job harder and longer. Replacing it with a newer, better shovel made all the difference.

So, if you are ready for the snow to arrive make sure your tools are in good condition and you have everything you need to tackle winter head-on. Don’t forget that new shovel! It makes all the difference.

Here’s a quick checklist of what you need to make it through this year’s snow shoveling season.

  • Snow shovel
  • Ice chipper
  • Ice melt or sand
  • Snow boots
  • Winter coat
  • Winter gloves
  • Toques or other winter headgear

Additionally, it’s important to be aware of any weather forecasts that may come in – especially if you’re expecting a major snowstorm. It pays to prepare ahead of time so you don’t find yourself stranded at home with no way out! Lastly, remember to dress properly when heading outside in cold and snowy conditions – layers are key! Be safe this winter and enjoy all that winter has to offer! If you take precautions and plan ahead, your winter season can be an enjoyable one.

Have fun and enjoy the snow!
